I know, I know, it's been a long time. Chalk it up to sports, school, family, and a complete lack of time- although there really isn't much of an excuse. But, alas! Good news!
Our next podcast is coming. The recording date is set- next week, in fact, and we will be discussing our reactions to the new book by Stephenie Meyer, 'Breaking Dawn'. For those of you who have questions for us to answer about the series, the book, the movie, or the cast, send them to our new e-mail: noctuapodcast@gmail.com
Plus, we will have with us (hopefully) two guests who will be aiding us in the discussion. Please, send us your questions, and we hope to see you soon :)
Your Ashamed Host,
Caitlyn

I know we've been gone for most of the summer, but we plan to be back up and running soon.
Hope you've had a nice summer,

Summer
As amatur podcasts its pretty much a given that we don't know what we're doing. All you have to do is listen to episode 1 to know that. We're also alot of other things though, and unfortunatly we have come to the realization that many people who are involved with online activities come to. That is: sometimes, real life really really gets in the way.
At the begining of the summer we decided that rather than go on hiatus until fall, we would keep doing podcasts and cross our fingers that it all worked out. Unfortunatly, this didn't happen the way we had imagined it. At the same time that I was trying to do episode 10 I was preparing to be out of town, and now I'm going away again. In a nutshell, there just hasn't been time for the podcast, or the website, no matter how much I wanted to work on it.
In the very near future we hope to be back, but I can't promise it will be tommorow. It will happen though.
in the meantime, I found this both amusing, and a good argument for the overanalyzation we so love around here :)

Our Latest Project
Hi again! Sorry to bug you all, but we have started on a new project for a future podcast. Many of you who are into the fandoms we discuss on the podcast have probably read at least a few fanfictions made by the... well, fans. We are trying to compile a list of really good fanfics to talk about, so please send in whatever stories you have either written yourself, or that you have found on other sites. They can be for any fandom, but preferably something that will be recognized by fellow Noctua-listeners. Here's some examples of good places to look:
Happy Independence Day!
For those of you who celebrate American holidays, we at Noctua would like to wish you a very happy July 4th. To those of you in different countries, happy July 4th, anyways! And to those of you from England- I hope there are no hard feelings. Just kidding!

Twilight Movie YouTube Channel
Summit Entertainment, the makers of the Twilight movie now have an official YouTube channel. Right now they have a "production diary" in which we get to see them filming what appears to be the scene in the ballet scene at the end, and a teaser trailer type thing (below) where all the actors talk about their characters. If you haven't been happy with the casting I suggest watching it because you get to see them acting in character and in full makeup and everything .VERY exciting stuff and hopefully we'll get more behind the scenes in the future.

Episode 7: Random Tales of Car Trouble in Switzerland
We had soooooo many issues with this podcast. First we had to record way late because of Caitlyn's car trouble, then half of it got deleted. All in all we apoligize for its belatedness and for some random places that might be a little confusing because we had to rerecord. Sadly, a lot of the part that died was me singing…
- ET did a behind the scenes with the cast of Twilight which you can watch here
- JK Rowing is in court with Steve Vander Ark (read the formal story here but we tell you all the same stuff http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/ap/20080413/120811248000.html )
- A review of Blood Red Horse by KM Grant which can be found here at Amazon.com.
- We look forward to your reviews of So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld
- We really need your thoughts about Penny For Your Thoughts this week as we discuss our individual (and very conflicting) visions for this podcast
- Evelyn is Switzerland
- A huge shout out with mega hugs to The Random Frequency Podcast!!! They're a really cool podcast that’s basically just really randomly funny :D check them out on YouTube with older episodes at their website here
- Next time tune in for Noctua: The Musical!!!!!

- Lots of Book Buzz including the release date for Melissa Anelli's book, more casting for Twilight as well as more updates on the filming, and bothersome day for Harry Potter Puppet Pals :P
- A review of The Confessional by JL Powers from teensreadtoo.com
- We're looking for reviews of Blood Red Horse by KM Grant
- Will we ever see Jacob imprint? Who could it be?
- What conditions affect imprinting?
- What is Jacob's fate in Breaking Dawn? Emily predicts his death while Caitlyn repeats "I love Jacob" more times than is really healthy in 27 minutes.
Please remember to send anything at all you would like to say, and your thoughts on Blood Red Horse by KM Grant to noctuapodcast@yahoo.com before Evelyn sends the wild banshees after you!!!!

A Slightly Longer Delay
There is good news and bad news. The good news is that we did a really great new episode! The bad news is that it didn't actually record correctly. Nobody is more disappointed at this than us, I can assure you but we hope this means that when we rerecord, it will be even better, which will be awesome. We hope that episode 5 will be out before the end of the week at the absolute latest and then we will be back on schedule so stick around :)

Podcast 3 Corrections
Sorry I haven't been able to host the last 2 podcasts. My schedule has been hectic.
Corrections to Podcast 3:
- It's the Inheritance Cycle, not the Inheritance Quartet.
- Brisingr is Old Norse, not Welsh. Eragon Newsletter January
- Here are some General Theories swirling in the Inheritance Fandom (including where the Vault of Souls might be hidden and who might ride the green Dragon).
- Ed Speleers played Eragon in the movie.
- I appologize for the always awkward "goodnight" at the end of the podcast (but it is cute).
~ Evelyn
Cool Dragon Article
This website is so cool!! there's all kind of stuff in here about how scientists have found ways to prove that certain things in fairy tales can be done. I know it isn't exactly book news, but I still think its really cool. There's also an article under animals about 10 animals who could have been used as the inspiration for dragons all around the world. So, check it out and tell us what you think.

Episode 4: I Agree With Me Why Don't You Agree With Me?
In this second (and please for goodness sake last) Evelyn-less episode…
• The date of the release of the 4th Twilight book Breaking Dawn is announced. AUGUST 2 PEOPLE!!!!
• A completely non-conclusive discussion on the symbolism of thestrals in the Harry Potter series.
• A review by Emily (not me, someone else. Its only the most popular girls name in America) of The Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale
• We ask for your reviews of Hurt Go Happy by Ginny Rorby
• We talk about the transformations of Elizabeth and Darcy respectively throughout the course of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, but that’s it because we completely forget about the other parts of the original question.
• Caitlyn wonders why nobody ever agrees with her and then calls out Emily for being too honest and making her look dumb.
Remember to shoot us…a quick email with your comments, questions, complaints, and reviews of Hurt Go Happy to noctuapodcast@yahoo.com! Also visit our website!

This week the lovely Evelyn could not join us so we replaced her gladly with Dominic.
In This Episode:
- Announcements of the winners of the American Library Association awards.
- A review from Lizzi of Looking For Alaska by John Green.

- How both Chalkzone and the Disney version of Hercules are both in Eragon (or so Dominic and Caitlyn say).
For more information and more winners and runners up of the ALA's awards visit www.ALA.org
Christopher Paolini, author of Eragon and the rest of the Inheritance Cycle's website is http://www.alagaesia.com/
As always send in you questions, comments, complaints, and reviews of The Book Of A Thousand Days by Shannon Hale to noctuapodcast@yahoo.com.

Episode 1: Our First One!
Welcome to the Noctua Podcast! Each episode of this new podcast features discussion on popular books such as the Harry Potter series, and the Twilight saga, while also exposing listeners to new books, genres, and topics of interest to them as teen booklovers. Make sure you see our website for more info on how to subscribe, submit book reviews, and more!
In this episode...
• Excitement over the casting of the leads in the Twilight movie.
• Symbolism in Harry Potter. We conclude that the most important symbol is sock
• Discussion a review of Burned by Hellen Hopkins
• Penny For Your Thoughts On...should Bella become a vampire? Has your opinion changed when you were reading the different books?
• Ducks, how we put PotterCast on a stick, and Emily Shipping Est. 1998
• We would also like to apologize for the fact that for most of the podcast Emily's audio is about 2 seconds ahead of Caitlyn and Evelyn. This and the poor quality are just due to the fact that we don't know what we're doing yet when it comes to podcasting. However we hope you can enjoy it anyway!
